If there was a medical clinic that treated basic things (colds, coughs, high blood pressure, back pain, STD testing etc) at truck stops, do you think people would use them? They would have to be at the busiest truck stops.
just curious

My company is thinking of starting small health clinics at the busiest truck stops to offer basic services.
we could offer DOT physicals, blood pressure, cholesterol, back pain, sleep apnea, thyroid disease, STDs, EKG testing etc.
just not sure if there is a market for such a thing
can anyone advise? -
Yeah here is really important advice.
You should not ask about it on a forum because you won't get the needed information on the key issues on starting them, there are consultants who specialize in the planning and advising the viability of clinics, so work with them to first see if it is needed and second see if it is profitable in key T/S locations.
Oh and you don't need to post your request in more than one part of the forum. -
ok thanks for advice.

For a cold probably yes, any help is better then feeling like crap away from home. For other stuff I would do my best to wait and see my primary.

There are a few truck stops that already have them. I-81 exit 205 in VA....Behind the Petro.
It is kinda like an urgent care and they also do DOT physicals..
They usually have a few people waiting to be seen so I believe business is pretty good at that one. -
They did try this already. Dr John had stared with a mobile RV the MERV and then opened some clinics. He was kinda going for the sleep apnea I think because that all he talked about and MERV RV was sponsored by sleep lad or something.
You can see some of the closed clinics at Pilot and TA truck stops. If I remember he ran into some state laws that basically made it impossible to make money. Driver we're going and he was even doing sleep apnea test for driver in their trucks.
He had some states made him have RN or MD on site or something and he ended up closing them all down. He had like 15 open and running at one time.
