I'm in the process of getting quotes on Health Insurance for Myself....and also checking on getting coverage for my wife and daughter(in college). When my wife joins me she will be able to get the company(Prime) benefits package. The kicker is that I can't be her dependent since I'm the one paying her wages.
So the question is.....As a small business person, who do you have your coverage with? And, how much does it run per month?
Thanks for any input you provide.
HEALTH Insurance.....Who do you use? What kind of Coverage do you have?

What kind of dental coverage as far as max. yearly coverage and deductable does the average trucking company offer?
-
Most, that I ever knew would not offer much at all as far as dental insurance. Most of the time the insurance pays next to nothing, you have to wait a YEAR before even using the crap, usually a $500 deductible and max they would pay in a year was $1,000. MOST dental insurance is flat worthless and there is no sense in paying for it, period.

My vote goes with Wise on this topic.
Nobody offers dental that is worth the price you pay for it.
My ex wife had primo insurance coverage on our kids, as did I. It still cost us over $4k (out of pocket) for my youngest childs dental care, when braces got involved.
Never mind the fact we had stuffed over $40k into the 2 medical/dental/vision plans over the years. -
I had a plan with no deductible which was included in my overall health plan.It capped out at $1500.00 per year per family member on dental.A cleaning every 6 months cost $125.00 but was covered at 100% because I used a dentist that was in network.X-rays and other incidentals were covered but I did have to read the fine print on what the insurance company considered above what was reasonable and necessary. One time I didn't inquire about X-rays and their limit and had to pay out of pocket a good sum of money. As Danc said if you have kids that need braces expect to pay a lot of out of pocket money.$3000.00 for my son.If you feel that your teeth are in good shape and no gum disease or bone lose then I would opt out of the dental policy if all you need are a couple of cleanings per year.If you let your teeth and mouth go you might want to take advantage of your dental plan because oral surgery and advanced care can run into the thousands.Just read the policy before accepting to see if it's good coverage or worthless.

I'm going to take the OTR route it's looking like but I will need some good Health insurance for me and the wife. Out of all the starter companies such as Werner,Star (IL), USA, FFE,PAM, Watkins Sheapard, Western Express, Etc. Etc., which has good insurance? By good I mean reasonably priced and good coverage, I don't want to get a $3000 surgery and have to pay $2700 of it. Anybody that has worked for any of the starter companies, I'd really appreciate any input you can give. Thanks in advance.

Im actually looking at aflac, every company I have been with so far or friends have, your going to pay high premium, and have a nice deductable before they kick in at 80/20.
