Lynden is more of a complete transportation system than Carlile, which is a trucking company that is big in the Interior and Far North, but not so big Outside. During my time with the FAA in Anchorage, I ran the unit that had oversight of their all-cargo, all-countries airline; they used Lockheed Hercules L-382 airplanes, the civilian version of the military C-130. One of my manager colleagues used them to ship a Harley from Houston to Anchorage.

Sorry I am late to the party.
Rumor has it Lynden almost bought Gordon a few years ago.....................
But to answer your question:
A big sporting goods outfit with its HQ in the midwest loads our Lynden trailers, then had Gordon team drive em to our Fife terminal to be shipped up to Alaska.
It about kills me to see em doing it though, but Lynden doesnt do a lot of team runs (outside of the Alcan and Brown lines fresh fish), so I do understand the rational. -
In 2010 I saw a Carlisle truck on I-90 in Lorain County, Ohio which is a very very very long way from home for that Carlisle truck it looked out place on I-90 in Lorain County, Ohio it must have been some fluke or very special load, because Carlisle I don't think makes it down to Ohio all that often. That would be like seeing GFS truck in Alaska.
