Well. Did my Orientation and had no issues.
Ran out of here Wednesday night and had to get a return load Thursday, due to qualcom not working.
Then ran this weekend, due to having been home for 4 months, did not think I needed the weekend home.
I probably have about 2000 paying miles right now since Wednesday, so running pretty good, even with some maintenance needed on truck.
Doing a 10 now while truck is getting a few things fixed.
In an International 9400. All the 9400s will be traded by April though, so after that all trucks in the fleet will be 2009 or newer Prostars.
Trucks are stripped down, not much storage, but I can live with that.

I have talked to at least 25-30 drivers around the terminal and at stops.
All but 1 have been happy with the company. I take that as a pretty good sign.
Fleet average for Ohio regional is around 2200 miles a week and home 3 out of 4 weekends. So about what I was hearing from the recruiter.
All in all so far so good.

I cannot complain at all here yet. I will give it a month and see to make a real decision, but so far nothing that is bad.
Low as heck on hours at the moment. Only get back 7 at midnight, but they gave me a load that will get the max use out of what I have and should still get me home some this weekend.
Plus will have a second good check coming.
Will just take a while to get use to not running the heck out of every hour I get and then being off for the weekends for resets. Oh....wait....I will be home most weekends lol. I can run the heck out of this thing and still get my resets to do it again the next week lol.
If they give me the loads, they will see me driving 55 hours every week out. I have no issue with that. They get me the loads and I will move them as quick as legally possible. And with most being drop and hook, that is not too hard to do.

My starting pay was at the 2 year rate. I have allot of local experince but less than 3 years OTR experiance in the last 10 years.
So I started at 38.5 cpm, I will get hazmat soon and that will raise me to 39.5
Miles are not really high, but I am getting home. I can live with 2000-2300 miles a week and home 3 out of 4 weekends.

I have been talking to allot of long term drivers there. They do have quite a few newer drivers, but they have allot that have been there 5++ years, that are quite happy.

    Hey, CD
I've been reading your posts and I have found them to be very helpful. I have not heard from you recently and was wondering how it was going for you at Heartland?
Any future posts from you would be much appreciated, for I am considering employment with heartland soon.
Also, if anyone else has any information on them, please post your comments too.

Thankful for your time and effort.

    P.S. Drive Safe !!!

I answered some of your questions in another thread.
I am still with them, and still getting home 2-3 weekends a month. Though not for very long. Get my resets though.
Miles are up and we have ALLOT of freight.
    No sitting here at all.
The inspection bays at most terminals have gotten faster, lines are down.
The work seems to be getting done faster as well for services.
We still have some totally new prostars waiting for drivers. And we need more drivers bad.

    daytriper Thanks this.
