I worked for Heartland for about 6 months in 1996 and spent one night in the Heartland Motel.

I really have no specific recollections of Heartland other than I would never work for them again. One of the most miserable jobs I ever had.

It wasn't the job so much as it was the old "call me back in fifteen minutes" or "just hang out for a couple of hours and we'll get back to you" that was their daily routine.

I have allways drove my own but I have seen other outfits paying 50 cents more than once in the last couple of years so I don't really think this 50 cent issue is that much to crow about ??? I would think it would be halfway decent considering what everything else costs now days !!! I would never even consider draggin their trailer for that 95 cents they advertise with fuel costs alone eating most or all of that up ??? That so called FSC won't do diddly for the actual costs out in the real world when you trying to fill the tank !!

You say you live in Monmouth ILL ??? I'm the Trucker Buddy for the 5th Grade class at Lincoln Intermediate School at 325 S 11th st in Monmouth !!! I'll be there with my Pete to see the kids on the 24th of April !!! Sorry about getting off of the topic ??

My time at Heartland was ok but I found them to be overbearing and pushy at times. They did not have team freight and that is precisely why they hired me and my wife. I was a new up and coming O/O and they did were not any help at all. We sat with these guys quite a bit. They have always used this "higher pay" thing to reel you in... They contributed to the loss of my truck. You go figure!

I see Heartland around my neck of the woods more than I see anybody else.

I too, worked for Heartland. The 2 issues I had with them is; not getting adequate miles, and a very disrespectful dispatcher. They do have very good equipment and regarding the trailers they have, the tandem levers really do work, they actually pull out like they're supposed to, (and stay pulled out). There was ALOT of time of their loads, and waiting for another load could be problematic.
