Yeah funny for some reason I gotta nothing better to do than to down heartland. Truthin drivers already know what kind of company heartland express is oh excuse me heartless express. They Lie, steal and robbing you of miles and the sitting during inspection is unbearable and then they still expect you to deliver on time since you been up all day at the inspection line.and the n they want you to drive all night and you have not got no sleep. Dirty company. They don't care about any of their drivers. No detention pay and forget layover Scammers.

So true. Atlanta was the worst. One Friday morning I got in line there at 6:30AM and waited FIVE HOURS to get into the inspection bay where they had me wait another SIX & A HALF HOURS to get two tires replaced. By that time it was just past 5PM. I told Atlanta dispatch and overnights that I was ready to go. I sat until Sunday. Two full days wasted. It's a catch 22, if you call dispatch more than three times about wanting a load, they'll think you're a trouble maker.

You guys ######## about the inspection line need to go work for swift and see how long it takes for them to get anything fixed or what they call fixed on the truck or trailer. 3 day wait to get a service done on the truck and then it's not done right. Go and slide the tandems on a swift trailer is just about a 2 man job most of the time and then get that tire or light fixed. A/C went out and took them 2 days to fix. heartland fixed not only the a/c but also the egr cooler in 4 hrs. I would like to see you guys ##### about the inspection line after working for swift. Its all about how you communicate to heartland. If they tell to fuel at a term and it going to make you late on the load call fuel or fleet Manager and they can get you fuel somewhere else. But it seems like you r the type if you don't have something to complain about your not happy. Oh by the way after you get your truck out of the shop and they want you to run with no sleep simply and professionally let them know you have had no sleep and won't risk your life. I have had to do that couple of times and they understand. Keep in mind they don't know if your truck has been in the shop or not they just see your hours. The communication could be a lot better between the shop and heartland. What I don't understand is if its that bad why are you still with heartland. Get a life and move on.

So what you're saying is that compared to Swift, Heartland is great?
Well, I already knew Swift sucked. I didn't need you to tell me that. I've never met a driver happy to be there. Ever.
So.... compared to a company everyone knows is awful, Heartland isn't quite as awful. VERY persuasive argument Sniper.
Trying to baseline off of Swift tells you everything you need to know. -
Heartland is good for a lot of people, but probably better for more experienced drivers who have been doing this for many years already and know how to truck very well. they require a couple years driving experience and a pretty good record, they are a little harder to get on with, but they are not desperate and their turnover is low compared to most.

Heartland is your average run of the mill OTR company, sure they pay well to get you in the door but make up for it by penny pinching on anything else. They arent a horrible company, but nothing special. LTL is still the way to go, we have 46 drivers at our terminal with around 25 at 15 or more years in and 41 at 5 or more years. The turnover rate is all you need to know and Im sure Heartland is right in the middle with that to.
