I will have to remember to dig it out when I get home next weekend. If I had not been out riding all weekend I would have seen the post earlier. Sorry about that.
I traded my old bike for a Harley this weekend, so was a little busy with the good weather.
As to the dedicated question from Giants.
I am out of the Columbus terminal. Not Carlisle.
The only leg that I have that is dedicated is Columbus to Buffalo. Getting back to Columbus is a round about effort many times. But as soon as I get there I head back to Buffalo.
We have 2 accounts that head up there with several trucks every day.
Loads up on Friday deliver either on Monday or Saturday morning before 0300. Just depends on which account I take a load for. The Monday load goes home. The other I deadhead home from Buffalo. Unless they happen to have a load for me to pick up when I get empty.
It took me close to 2 years before I got on a dedicated. Their are 4 of us on that lane.
Cannot really go into more detail here. Sorry.

-
What's the governed speed on the heart land trucks, and what do you do with all your time when you are only getting 2100 miles per week?
-
Its ok chrome you don't have to go into detail about "office politics"

Yea, it is a 2009 with a 96 ci.
I traded a 2007 Yamaha Star 1300. They started at the price I thought I could get for it on the open market (well 200 short) then took off for 2 new tires, cost of service that it needed, and to paint front finder. All of which was fair. And most of which I would have had to do before sale anyway.
They also gave credit for upgrades. I had thousands in performance parts, chrome, and other changes in it. I was happy with the trade deal.
Just wish I could have gotten them down a grand on the sale price of the soft tail.
It was at full retail, and he did not want to budge. But it would have sold fast anyway. So he really did not need too. -
Heartland trucks are governed at 64 as a main speed. But they have this stupid driver rewards system on them. Basically if you idle too much the top speed goes down. So at 30% idle it slows to 62. At 40% it slows to 60.
On the what do I do with my time question.
I get home by early Saturday morning almost every week. And I leave the house at 0800. on Monday.
On the question of what do I do with my time.
Most of the time my loads are set up so that I have at least 1 pickup and 1 delivery every day. So I make sure I am always staged to make the best use of my 14 the next day. And allot of the time I use my full 14. If I have any live loads or unloads.
Most pickups are drop and hook. The unload depends on the contract. If it is retail. Or a DC Etc.mje Thanks this. -
I am considering upgrading to 110 ci, do you think the extra power is worth it? already have modified exhaust and air filter.
Anyway, its cool that you have an OTR trucking job that lets you get home on the weekends.
