My father in law runs for Heartland. They just instituted a haircut policy, has to be above the collar. No inverters or APUs. But he's home every weekend and makes about $500/week, which isn't great, but livable.

lmao.. I remember when I had a international cabover..talk about no room, you guys have no idea what no room is!. I had to keep a trunk at the end of the bed to keep my stuff in and had to put my pants on laying down two legs at a t time..lol.. You will have alot more to be worried about then space working for this company.

What's the truthful breakdown of the 48 cents a mile? Isn't it only if you run east coast, don't idle, have great fuel econmy and perfect driving record? In reality its only 36-38 cents if that and the rest is a bonuzs? That's what I hear from reliable people that work there.

I see some are talking about no compartments in the trks, does it really matter.Less space means less you have to bring.

i worked @ heartland express for 3 years, first two years was ok.2500/2800 miles a week home every wknd .45 cpm.year three things started going down hill.they do alot of fed ex freight.300 miles loads over nitemake you sit all day take another 10 hour break so you can do load after sitting up all day waiting for aload, they tell you no freight in the area, then ggive you fedex load .too much downtime.miles went down to 1500 mpw.wknd tah went away.so i left.to each their own.

I'm a heartland driver. Here is my experience here as a regional driver, I get less than 2000 miles a wk, I have to fight to get home every two wks,I sit countless hrs at shipper?receivers, then you have to go to terminal and sit even more. I've been in jax,FL waiting 24hrs for a service and over got 550 miles for the wk.stay away unless u just wanna come sit in a truck to say you got a job!
