Is there a point at which you won’t run your truck due to heat? Is there any extra damage that be done with heat over 105?

Here in DFW we’re gettin into the 105-110 degrees. Which is hot enough to turn a fat person skinny, a vegan into a meat eater, a sinner into a saint. All within a half a day.

The short answer is no. During high heat make sure the coolant is at the proper level. Keep an even closer eye on your temperature gauge. Watch your tires closely.

What would be “too high” of a outside temp to run in your opinion

That is not even a concern. Honestly, you’re worrying about nothing.

It's more me who has the heat limitations than the truck. Gets too hot and just strapping a load down gets me feeling like ####. I've overheated myself a few too many times.

I've idled in 120f heat in Phoenix just like many others, with no problems. I had a newer truck, though.

Make sure you have plenty of water in case you breakdown in the middle of nowhere.

All I do is make sure my tires are at the correct pressure and drive slower to keep them a little cooler.

These last few weeks I’ve had to bring extra clothes out on the road, after I’m done loading up, I’ve soaked my clothes all the way through like I’ve jumped in a pool. Then have to drive 500 miles. Yuck. I change all the way out before I roll

i normally keep a tote with food, 24 case water, and cooler with various drinks. I’ve been broke down with no food/water. Never again
