Looking for a company that hauls heavy equiptment only, not interested in tarping or what I would call general freight..I would need securement training as I've only done a handfull of flat loads my entire 18 years out here..
Does such a outfit even exist ??
KEEN is out already talked to them they now require 2 years flat/step/RGN..
Heavy equitpment or machinery only ??

Think ATS Specialized may do a good bit of that stuff though I think they also have vans, etc....have definitely seen a small convoy of ATS trucks every once in a while all pulling RGN's with Heavy Equipment on them. Best of luck in your search!
Logan76 and Flip Flops Thank this. -
Where do you live. You could check daily but they might want experience also.

Are you an o/o? A buddy of mine pulls for trans united out of Indiana I think, and he seems happy, they don't tarp much if any ( at least he doesn't), but I believe they are an all o/o outfit..

ATS doesn't haul heavy equipment only.
The first one that comes to mind with me is Daily. Then there's JK Hackl, Warren, Midwest, Buchanan, Valley, Machinery Transport, Combined...etc. but I would wager that all of them require recent, verifiable experience. And companies like TMC and PGT are going to require you to drive 2 to 3 years to even get into their specialized divisions.
Most of the bigger companies are going to want to see a track record ( meaning, you're going to have to put your time in hauling sticks and bricks and steel) before they trust you with half million dollar machines. And the serious haulers, like Mammoet won't even look at you for another decade.
There are some of the small fleet, 10 trucks and less, that would hire you. The problem is with those companies is they don't have the people in the office hired on to keep an eye out on changing regs, and they may expect you to bootleg a big load. Those tickets are HUGE. How huge? Big enough to sink a small company with one hit. The boss will tell you to bootleg and he will cover any fines...but you may have to post bail if that's a really big fine. And if the boss has to choose between his company and covering the fines, don't be surprised if he doesn't.
So, if you find a gig that will let you on, I wish you well. Don't let them talk you into bootlegging a heavy load.Flip Flops and aber Thank this. -

Forgot to mention Tenant and Hunt Transport.

Was looking for an outfit similar to what KEEN offered at one time where they train you, start you out slow, move on up to the bigger stuff, and NO TARPING...
Its my own fault for not jumping when I first talked with them just couldn't make up my mind.. -
Flip Flops Thanks this.
