Be careful as they've got bans on 85 south of watford. I think that the new truckstop in Alexander has a scale but don't quote me on that.

ND has their frost laws in effect right now, but 85 is listed as By Legal Weight, but the permit is still costing a fortune as Im going to be over the 105500 GW. The permit doesnt list any bans or restrictions on 85 for me.... What bans are you referring to?

Ill pass through Alexander in the morning, Ill be coming into ND on the 200, so I should be able to take a peek on my way through. Is it on the North or South side of town? And i presume off the new bypass?

I'll have to look because I could swear they had an 8ton ban on around grassy butte. The new truckstop is on the. South side at the junction of 68 and 85.

Took a gander at the TS on my way down, no scale. So I ended up going to beach to weigh, and sure enough just as I thought was going to happen, the machine was at least 5k heavier than the paperwork said. So ran down to Bowman, and reordered my SD permit on the way. The Bowman scale was closed so I ran to Rapid City, called it a night there.

This morning I ran into NE since I was good for 140k. Made it to York for the night. Tomorrow I'll reorder KS, OK and maybe TX. I'm only going about 20 miles into Texas, so not sure I'll get a new one. There's no scales on 35, so....
But, on the better side, all the extra for the double order of permits and the charge for the extra day are going to be coming back to me. So, I'm actually money ahead on this one.

Anyone have any experience with a 4 axle tractor that has the lift axle behind the drives instead of in front?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you I appreciate the reply. DO they like that setup? I'm assuming they run a pretty long neck most of the time to throw the weight up front even with the cheated picked up. I'm just looking into different ideas on a truck setup.

We run pretty long necks, but with the extra axle behind the drives, as I understand it he can raise the pressure in the bags and transfer weight forward even easier.
