That's what I plan on doing, I don't have an extra plug on my tractor so I'm assuming your using the yellow ABS plug that's on the back of your tractor. I thought about running a six wire with one of the round 6 way plugs so there's no confusion at the gooseneck as to which plug goes where.

No, I just used a hole saw and added another 7-way female plug to my headache rack, identical to the OEM for the trailer. I then wired up the ground and ABS hot right from the normal plug which left me with 5 additional positions for connecting to the switches on the dash. Since I'm the only one who ever drives this truck I don't worry about getting confused, the green 7 wire cord is for the normal trailer connection and the black is for my accessories.
On our spreads with dump valves they are already set up with an additional 7 way female which makes it easy. On loads where I need to tap into the other 4 wires for extra lights etc. I just took and made a very short female-male cord with tap lines coming out of the female side of the plug I can wire my lights into. I use normal 3 wire extension cords which provide a ground and two additional wires which are switches with the auxiliary switches on the dash.
Hope some or all of that only confuses a simple thing even more. I'll get my junk all dug out and get pictures at some point but it's buried way back deep in the side box because I've been pulling the same 2 axle stretch RGN's since last December.tsavory Thanks this. -
I ask and usually get 100-135 an hour and lay over I like to try to be at 1000tsavory Thanks this.

My old company had $100 / hr for our 5&6 axel setups.

Thanks for your input guys.
One more question, for those with lift axles, which do you prefer and why? Equalizer valve or manual pressure regulator? I have a manual regulator right now, and I like the fact that I can increase the pressure and get some weight off the steers if need be. But, just wondering your guys' thoughts on the two. -
I like the manual adjustment, nice to move weight if needed without moving the load.
-
I agree Oscar. I'm probably going to replace my current regulator with a new/different/higher pressure one. Mine will only go up to about 70, then bleed down 10 psi. I currently run with it at about 50psi and with 75-80k on that puts my steers at about 14 and my drive tridem at 57-59...depending on fifth wheel position.

You have the muffler under the sleeper, and the small air tanks behind the battery box, don't you? I will have to look around and see how others are doing the W9.
