That is like saying Chevy is a car but all the rest are automobiles. That is a folding gooseneck trailer and yes it does pick up the load.

 

I guess, I know that's a folding neck they used to be popular around here with the paving contractors but I haven't seen one in a long time. Those trailers didn't have the legs to lift they just did it with the neck somehow, I never pulled one never had the desire really. But I've never seen anything but a detach referred to as "ground bearing" XL doesn't even use that term for their advertising in that trailer.

 

On a different note Sunbelt rentals here in town has a new Landoll detach with a full width ramp on the front. It hinges right behind the gooseneck when you unhook it lays down and makes a nice full width ramp. It would be perfect for pavers, rollers, or anything that has trouble with the normal ramps. Landoll doesn't list it in their site yet but I thought it was a neat idea, it would limit hanging things over your neck but still a cool idea.

 

We haul a lot of pnuematic rollers and paving equipment that isn't standard size, so I kept 2 smaller ramps that I would use instead of trying to get it perfectly lined up. It made life a lot easier.

 

I carry two for between my ramps as a matter of fact I made a new set Friday. But even those can be difficult with some machines this is a pretty slick set up though.

 

Yeah, I also kept the bottom rubber of pylons to help make them be the right height. I had 4 of those to help me build the matching height to my deck.

 

The back of a trail king has a 4' semi well to store stuff.

 

If it's at the back it's a bucket trough. Helps get the height down on bigger excavators although I always load too far back for it to be of much use.

 

I have not lost out, but the stuff I haul is more heavy than long. if you going back to 6 axle a 29 would probably be the way to go. some times I wonder if a 24ft well with a longer neck would work best for me.
