That's what we're wondering, and there is no "standard" answer. In some places you could get a real stickler that might say the flip is a divisible load, he would be a jerk but could. Personally I think calling a stowed stinger, flipped up axle, or a flipped neck extension kind of against the "spirit" of the divisible load rules. I can understand not putting something on with a D7 for example (I use that because in my younger days we did that s lot) that would be a divisible load or even just stacking thing on an exceeding 80,000. But carrying unused parts of you trailer is just chicken crap.Heavy Hammer Thanks this.

Oh ok, I knew you got a new one but I never heard anything about it. A 102 swing with that much well and a flip third should be a nice rig.Oscar the KW Thanks this.

Does it have a deck on the neck or just a standard narrow neck?
-
No deck, machinery neck.johndeere4020 Thanks this.

I couldn't agree with you more!!!
IMHO, now that the SC&RA got us the 30 minute break exemption, the next two priorities should be (in this order)
1) Exemption of the 10 consecutive hours off duty when OS/OW permit dictates mandatory movement time restrictions.
Ex-1: WA state, loves to make me move across I-90 during the day to North Bend, then night move through Seattle area from 12am to 4am, then daylight beyond that...cops drop me @ NB about 3-4 and come back to get me at midnight every time, legal because its state patrol escort, BUT FMCSA log book rules are Federal, try explaining why you did that in WA to a DOT officer in MT, he doesn't know or care about WA's rules, you violated Fed rules...ticket! You'll win in court, but you have to take the time off and go BS!
Ex-2: Having to park and wait during mandated curfews, city or state wide (NY).
In these cases allow us to split our Off Duty/Sleeper Berth time using the old mandate of, no segment less than 2hrs
2) The ability to carry (1) non ground bearing trailer component while loaded. I understand that they don't want overweight units traveling with axles not deployed (max weight distribution) but to carry a stinger, spreader bar, flip neck, or a section is absolutely no different than having a trombone trailer not stretched out. It is a trailer component not in use.TripleSix Thanks this. -
Thanks for the explanation, I wasn't really following close cuz its outside my range but I still try to watch and learn the next level and sometimes I have random ideas.

Oscar, what was the deciding factor in moving from 4 back to 3? Does MW have a lot of work in the 60-70K range?
-
Couple of things, the decline of 7+ axle freight this year being the biggest. I hate sitting around all the time waiting for a load that pays good, I'm just not wired to sit like that. And to be honest I hated my 4 axle truck, that thing beat the hell out of me.
Our bread and butter is 5/6 axle stuff, so that's the reason I decided to downsize. I have plans to go back to a 4 axle and do want to some day get under a bigger trailer. But at this point I'm in no hurry to do so. -
Is Lefty still pulling his 4 axle Western? And how is he doing? I met him once in passing in Lubbock spring of last year. We were all running blades from Corpus Christi to Genoa,CO.
I actually looked into MW a few years back when these people tried to hold my hand. I thought about going to Brewton and staying in the south, but something tells me to stay put. I don't want to start at the bottom during slow times.
