Heavy Haul Owner operator Question...Anyone? sorry btw, not sure if this is in the right forum....
hey all, I am new to this site. nice to meet everyone! I have a question. I live in salt Lake City, i am part of the heavy haul states of the North west. ut, wy, co, wa, mt, or... I have about 3 years experience driving heavy haul. 4 axel tractors, and 3 and 4 axel dry van and reefer. I am currently looking for work. now a few years into my career, i am wanting to take a step forward. So My question is, can anyone point me in the right direction to a company that has a lease purchase program on heavy haul/4 axel tractors, and lease purchase program on heavy haul/ 3/4 axel trailers? I am not even sure where to look, except, basically to start going down the list of all trucking companies, and just asking the recruiter, which I would to avoid. thank you for any help or advice!

you could start with Anderson Trucking in St Cloud MN.
They do heavy haul O/O stuff. -
Wow - there is such thing as a 3 or 4 axle reefer?
-
I agree, start with Anderson. All the info is on their website
-
yes. I have even seen a small amount of 5 axel reefers as well.
U4EA Thanks this. -
I'd like to see a picture of those....
Unless they are up in BC. -
I believe that is a Northwest thing. They put the extra axles under them vans and reefers and there you go. I'm a heavy hauler now.

To me there is a difference in box so called heavy haul and the true heavy haul..
Me I'll stick to my lowboy heavy haul. Takes more skill than just loading the box and shutting the doors..U4EA Thanks this. -
yeah heavy haul in a van is a world away different than heavy hauling a 90000 lb.+ machine thats 12ft. or wider and taller than a van. and has to be chained a certain way. plus all the axle configurations that have to be put together.

Why do you want to do a fleece purchase? Go buy your own truck and trailer out right and lease onto a good carrier.
SHC Thanks this. -
3-4 axle van is not heavy haul, it's just a door slammer with an extra axle or 2 LOL..... You could make just as much running a regular van IMHO. The only reason they run out west is because you are allowed to. The rates are not any better than regular van work in the Midwest.
U4EA and passingthru69 Thank this.
