From what I can see his truck doesn't really look like a ''big'' truck. Looks like it only has a 12,000lb front end, maybe it's a 14,000 idk? Did you add that tag axle ''Heavydude?'' The wheelbase looks waaay to long for it to be a ''heavyhaul truck.'' Most real heavy haul trucks have very short wheel base's and have 20,000lb with 46,000lb rear ends. I don't see the big heavy haul tires either. This is from what I've experienced. I don't know though, I'm not trying to sound like a super trucker, I could be all wrong. I apologize if I am.

    Looks like a Heavy load.
Since I did HH along time ago in the UK, only 3 chains (Maybe 5 if they are seperate to each side of trailer) on a 77,000 lb load?
Am I missing something here, also seen a few other loads that seem light on securement....

    5 Chains on that load.

    I would think that they're 1/2" .

How many 1/2" chains do you need on 77,000 lbs?

12k front is correct. The 10' spread on the truck is set up that way for WA~ 65k on the tridum(never loaded that much) "Weight" is not where the moneys at for me. Stretch loads are my money maker but, I can and will scale 81k to 90k (depends on the states) if I need to. I've hauled 10k (stretch) that pays more than some 80k loads.

8 axles total. The gross weight varies by state, 137k to 152k. I'm 55k empty and thats kinda lite for 8 axle stretch.

5 lifting grade chains is spot on IMHO.
You can lean to the cautious side but no need to get ridicules.
If the anchor points , chains and binders are good All OK.
Also depends whether the chains are looped in a "basket/Double" or choked to give only single chain strength.

I think SLCTrucker may be eluding to some other loads he has seen when he comments "light on securement".
