    Video of the crash shows the helicopter is missing its tail,so it’s possible that one or more of the rotor blades detached.

    That thing couldn’t have just ran out of fuel. It came down spinning. If he had ran out of fuel he could have feathered the propeller and at least some what coasted it down.

    how does a chopper lose the whole tail?? !!!! WTF!!

    been in a few "controlled" crashes :rolleyes: due to pesky small arms fire, but never had the tail fall off.

    Rotor blade detachment (possible maintenance issue and/or metal fatigue).

    Structural fatigue broken tailshaft shook the piss out of it a number of things . Ole huey was a tank it could take a good lick or 10 , why theres alot still in use around the world 50-60 yrs later .
