Hey All
This look's like a friendly place think ill hang up my hat for a bit.
Im a jack of all trades an a master of none done just about everything a man can do to earn a honest buck.
Looking into Driving again since Aviation here in Oklahoma has taken a left turn.Driving has always been my fallback when wrenchin went south.
Got my CDL years ago in 1991 when i got caught in my first layoff, via cool routes slow trucks up in Drumright ,OK USA as i recall the school was real hokkie or at least the instructors were. Freightliner's were used on our first trip on the road we had three in the cab i was sitting in the sleeper hunched over instructor on pasenger side an a woman i forget her hame got the honor of driving first, before we got to downtown Drumwright the instructor had her so rattled she was in tears she reached over as she was making a left turn thru an intersection in town an set the brakes she had enough then i got my turn it was like a chinese fire drill in the cab for a moment.
I got kudos on my abilities from the instructor when we got back an i proceded to respond in kind with a few colorful metaphors on his.
an finnished the course with a 68% wich 70% was required by CRST in order to get hired.
But i didn't care my cdl was in my pocket went back to OKC an was promptly hired by Coca Cola an was with them 4 years followed by a company that deliverd bakery goods on a deticated route i didnt stay as the pay was lousey for what i was doing multiple stops offloads by the piece no bulk never could find lumpers.
So Here i am another outta work Trucker with many hats.
Regards
Straw
