Hello, first of all. I am new here. I have been viewing for the past 3 weeks, but haven't registered until now. I have my Class A CDL permit with Tanker, Double/Triple, Air Brakes, and Combination. I am going for my DOT physical in 2 weeks.
I have a question. Those of you who do team with your spouse(husband, wife/wife, husband. Do you sleep with your significant other? Or does one sleep in another bunk. I have been considering doing OTR with my fiance, but I would hate to have to sleep apart all that time.
So, How do you sleep with your spouse?
Hello! How do you sleep?

If you run team you won't sleep together all that often.
one will sleep and one will drive. -
The only time we sleep together is on long down times, or at home time...
Now if she's just a rider, then she'd sleep with you every night
Provided you havent annoyed her of course...
Then again at least trucks come equip with an extra bed incase you did... -
We use top bunk for storage so we cant use that one for sleeping.
But we run Team as well so most the time just one of us is in bunk. -
Most normal factory specced trucks will have a twin size bed to sleep in with another slightly narrower one installed above in a bunk bed configuration (at least for team trucks anyway).
I believe you will be unable to sleep together in the same bed with this type of setup. Its great for ummmmm... shall we say recreation? with your spouse but too narrow for any decent rest trying to sleep together.
There are some specialty designed trucks with wider beds but they are usually owner op rigs with extra large sleeper compartments attached. -
Um no offense but on our off days/waiting to be loaded I and my husband share the same bottom bunk along with the cats... and its not at all uncomfy.

I agree.. my wife and I used to share a *single* bed (smaller than a twin). I'm 6'6" - she's a foot shorter. NO problems. And it saves on the heating bilils.
