Don't learn the ropes on your dime. Drive as an employee and learn learn learn while they pay for the mistakes. There is not much profit margin in trucking and you can't afford to screw up and you will screw up if you don't know what you are doing.

 

Haha, we're gonna get this thread locked with all this controversy. I think, Brexit will be very good for Britain. There is no way in hell, that the E.U. will refuse to negotiate an amicable free trade agreement with Britain. There's just too much to lose there.

I think, Brussels should have no direct influence on the internal policies of the UK. For some reason, we're "separatists" and nationalists, and I daresay racists, if we think Brussels should not have this influence over Britain. But if it was, say, Berlin having this sort of influence over the UK, and the year was 1947, and the War had gone a bit differently; we'd be calling this National Socialism.

...I often think of what would have happened if WW2 had gone differently. We'd have a Neo-Facist Euro-state controlling all entities in Europe much like the E.U. does now. We'd have no solid documentation proving the Holocaust. Since the victors write history, the atrocities would have been covered up and it would be portrayed in the light that Adolf Hitler and his brave group of Einsatzgruppen fought against the American racists, the Jewish Communists, and sought to unify Europe into one great, united government. The anti-semitism would be whitewashed and minimized, because nobody would have survived to tell the actual stories of Auschwitz and Birkenau. As we progress from the 1940's into 50's, 60's , 70's, 80's, 90's and present day, perhaps the original National Socialist party would even take on a more familiar feel to what we have today, in Europe. The old racists and anti-semites would die out, and the new generation, under the same flag, would tweak and modify the original hateful ideations into more friendly, less threatening doctrines.

Jesus, I almost think that because of the strict authoritarianism we saw with the USSR was so stifling and militant--I almost think, under this alternative and hypothetical government--the "neo National Socialist Party" as it would have evolved, would have become quite liberal as a means to directly oppose their enemy the USSR. While the USSR would be a strict military state as it did develop, I think a "neo National Socialist Party" would have strived to be the very opposite. A culture of vegetarianism, socialism, heavy government-approved amphetamine abuse would be promoted, in the spirit of The Leader.

I think it's the same thing. The European Union is just a safer idea than what the Nazi Regime sought to attain by violence, and genocide. Instead of murdering massive amounts of innocent civilians, they just make you want to hang yourselves with all the bureaucracy, red tape, slow-moving policies, suffocating rules and refugee criteria. I think, Britain and the UK will never revert to being a separate, insular island nation with no allies. You can't undue the years of marriage to Europe, so call it a blissful separation and a divorce for the mutual good of both entities, if you will.

Again, this is gonna get locked eventually. Pfft... what the hell does this have to do with buying a truck? I have no clue. But if I had UK Citizenship, I'd just stay put. Maybe I'd get out of the overpriced Southeast and go to more quiet places. I hear Scotland is rather nice

After you sign o or get hired by a trucking company....they have a lease option program, but I'd I were you...work for a year before signing onto the lease option maybe there is a better deal that comes along to own your own truck.....

Everybody needs to stop suggesting that this guy go to work for a carrier first. If you didn't notice, he's a UK citizen. He's not going to get a work visa unless he's coming here as a skilled migrant, has a spouse, a sponsor, or tens of thousands of dollars to start his own business.
