Hello, new to the site. Ever since I have been eight I have been fascinated with trucks. My work has had me filling in from time to time driving a 26' straight truck for the last 10 years, I have never minded because it got me out of the office.
Among my many hobbies one of them is racing. This year for a race out east I decided it would be cool to use a truck and trailer from our local leasing agent to haul a car for another team plus ours. I figured it would be a nice way to pull the car, all of the parts, and have lodging. So I took a class and two hours of instruction at my local truck driving school, took the test, and I now have a Class A CDL.
This was on Tuesday last week that I passed, my boss has now given me a new nickname "Ice Road Trucker". Then on Thursday he came up to me to let me know that we may be hauling trailers to one of our customers 215 miles away once a week and he wants me to pull a 53' foot trailer... #### what did I get myself into. LOL.
Oh well, I don't see it as being much of a problem. It is mostly running out of the Twin Cities into a rural area and figure it should be good practice for when I head out this fall.
Nice to meet you all,
Bill
