While not new to trucking, I am inexperienced to certain aspects of the industry regarding home time. I have worked for a number of large companies, where though it was not hard to get home time I was often out for months at a time before coming back home and then home only for a short time before going back out again. I now work as an independent for a much smaller company where getting home was not hard at first, but due certain situations, like bad weather, have found getting home harder. I don't mind being out for months at a time, and often enjoy it, though my wife not so much. I am however putting in my time so that I can work for a better company. I love trucking, have a great partner, though not entirely sure I want to continue teaming and would really love to drive locally. I"m generally easy going, have had my share of problems which I'm sure many truckers have experienced, and I love seeing the country even if its through the windows of the truck I'm driving or only when I stop to take a rest. I don't mind receiving advice as long as its helpful, feel there's always more to learn, and look forward to talking or meeting with other drivers.
