HELP!!! '13 Volvo D13 shakes & power loss at 1,600 RPM

I tend to climb hills in the peak HP range as opposed to the peak torque range.

 

And after 1500 it falls off. Well HP holds flat to about 1750 but torque nose dives.

Your not using the equipment properly IMO. If you need a higher top end consider changing rear ends. But I would not run that motor over 1450-1500.

 

I’m not sure the cost on 6 injectors replaced. It requires a special tool and special updated cups I think. You are probably looking at $5000 if you have multiples to replace.

 

You can burn up an engine running at peak torque while under full load.
Its pointless to run an pushrod truck engine over 150rpm, ie mx13.

 

I think last time I heard talk of 6 pack Volvo injector it was more than $8k I thinks.

 

My full set of injectors were $4500, comes with 1year warranty.. should be pretty close at any stealership.. that after market warranty may cover em..some do some don’t.. doesn’t sound like injectors to me tho.. good luck

 

New motors develop toque much lower than 855 Cummins and old Caterpillars and Detroit’s. I drove a Volvo daycab, 2013 with a d13 @405 hp, 10 speed and 3.36 on 295/75/22.5 tires. That truck ran 1350 rpms @ 65 mph, and I got anywhere from 7.5 in winter to low to mid 8s in summer pulling multi stop loads. I never shift over 1350 or so until I get to 9th and 10th then only 1400 or so, 1600 is out of the economy range on that truck.
