    Hi there.
I am going to try and give as much info as possible, Whatever you need for info i will Reply back as soon as possible with it

    2004 Pete
475 Cat (Not sure if its aCert or BXS) ( not even sure if that is right )

Drove it Last night to hook up a trailer and when driver went to truck this morning it would not start . Wound not even turn over .

So we hooked up jumper cables and nothing just turn the key and it cranks for about 1.2 seconds .

OK so tried putting charger on it . Nothing not even a change..

So i tried boosting it from my other Pete and again nothing

The batter gauge on the inside says 16 before turning the key and 14 after.

There is no check engine codes at all (55)

I really dont understand what it could be as it fired up GREAT last night hooked up trailer and then nothing ..

    Whats been suggested
    Clean Battery Posts
Look for loose grounds around started
    Battery are shot
Starter or cycloid could be shot too

    Thank you

I had a starting issue with my old Pete with a 475 cat. My mechanic made me a special tool too start it. He told me I had an Arkansas flywheel. It had no teeth. So I would have to manually turn the crank like an old modle T then it would start.

Yeah there is lots of fuel.

It doesn't even get to that point. its as if the battery's are dead and it wont turn over .

With hood open when you turn key the fan will move about 1 inch then it will not turn over anymore

    tnx

Check power at starter while cranking with test light at the small stud with wire going to it make sure your not losing power to starter while cranking then check starter relay on left side of firewall also check all connections at ign switch and all grounds ant positive cables at starter and batterys you might also load test the battaries might have a bad battery

Sounds like a poor connection at the starter since it works for an instant until the poor connection heats up and goes open circuit. The L shaped metal link that connects solenoid power to starter motor is a common failure, as well as b+ and b- connections. The poor connection is often good at hiding. You have to put a wrench on it to find it as rust and corrosion can be hidden and insulating the intended connection. Sometimes if you watch it in darkness while attempting to crank the poor connection will show arching or turn red hot. Good Luck!
