Go for it, buy the truck, $16,000 isn't much money anyways. And you have the combat training to give you an edge up on everyone else.

Yup, just like on the Farm, wise old man told me I would definitely have a crop failure if I didn’t plant the seeds!

90% of ALL small businesses fail (ie bars, restaurants...) . The stats I read a while back were something like 36% of trucking businesses making it through there second year. Off road such as Timber and Mining industries seem to have even better chances at success.
If that truck is sound, then I think your chances are good as long as you are prepared to divert money into the business rather than personal accounts for a while.

Last log truck I bought wasn’t in great shape, but paid its self of in one month! Of coarse there are other expenses, but none that compare to the expense of keeping an old truck safe and reliable! Good luck to you!

Friendly Fire...they'll (...pause for a language translation) frack you, yepper.

1), Brokers, will commit outright contract fraud. escrow accounts will become depleted, nuthing there for johnny come lately.

2), Repairs will be done on parts replacement that will have a similar affect as the one you described in your repair order request.

i.e.Repairs will be done by shop personnel whom were trained on their focus of expertise not the expertise of the part thats of issue. (you probably dont like the language).

Sample: When turning the key, Trucks a no start...wont do nuthing. After being towed, shop will tell you its the starter, gone bad. Depart shop, 4 hours later same problem. The real issue was a sensor on the autoshift went bad & didnt designate the transmission was in neutral.

(Original tech.wasnt trained on autoshift and/or shop wasnt certified to work on autoshift, where a computer hook up to the transmission that could of diagnose a sensor failure, wasnt available. The shop point of view, Following the repair...ur truck started after replacing starter. Your probably thinking, then for me to not view those type of repair problems...Dealer Only works on my truck...Humph, it was the dealer doing the repair work.) there are more similiar problems...

I would say go for it when you have a big cash reserve. At least Ten grand.
