We are a group of students in Pittsburgh working on a project to improve on the electricity supply in trucks, and hopefully make the life in a truck more comfortable. Our scope is in the electricity supply and A/C of the truck. We are figuring out ways to get the driver as much power as needed for cooking, entertainment, and comfort. Right now we are testing out the management system to make sure the controls give the options you want and no unnecessary clutter - that the system is easy to use quite imply. We're also looking for some insight into (1) what GPS and fleet management systems you have and (2) the flow of your work-day and work-week.

The team is consist of an electrical engineer, a mechanical engineer, a designer, a PR/marketer, and me from SCM/operations. This is an integrated product development project at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. We are all doing this because we want to improve the work situation for truck drivers, and for that we need to understand the job and the life.
