Thanks for the input and thanks to all the drivers we have had the chance to chat with over the last few months. The project has been successfully concluded, hopefully the solution the team worked up will become available and useful to drivers soon.
My best,
Axel

It sounds like they're looking for some new scheme to rip off truckers and screw up the truck lots with more crap.
What was the name of that system where they put those steel yellow bumps in the lot so you could hook to cable tv? Park n View???
Then they came out with idle aire and now Love's has that tire check crap.
What's next?
It sounds like these guys are trying to resolve a problem that doesn't exist, with a scam that will screw the drivers.
Go get a job with the federal gov't. if you just wanna screw things up.hunted Thanks this. -
Don't be so surly Wisconsin, they're college kids, they want to "change the world"!
(When they get out of college is when they realize the world was fine just the way it was and it doesn't need some snot-nosed teenager to tell it what to do, thank you very much.)WisconsinF150 Thanks this. -
Worst part is it isn't just the snot nosed teenagers. It's the 30 somethings and I've even seen it from people in their early 40s.
And I'm just sitting here living in my own world...painting my rock that I live under...wondering weather to move the T.V. so I can see it better while I'm laying in bed at night. -
Not all drivers are that grumpy, good luck on you research

Im half tempted to purchase two Generac Power units for 750 each, parallel them and toss a 5000 BTU window unit duct taped to the passenger window somehow to cool the cab during this summer.
With that said, if you can provide a secure against salt water and water environment to a set of protected outlets for those of us inclined to use power tools not availible to run off air due to a break down taht affects the air supply in the shop? There should also be a adequate house power outlet that is also protected so that the driver can run anything, particularly a induction wave cook top to cook dinner rapidly and properly as one would at home. This is where the generac Gennies portable to go in and get the job done.
I realize that 4 batteries may not cut it and a APU might be the final solution running off fuel to provide for house power at 120 volts and 15 amps using a ocean going marine engineering that is available.
With that said, I don't understand also why we are laboring with direct drive manual transmissions and overly complicated labor saving automatic transmissions which are as I write this.. providing a service. Would it be best to miniaturize a Railroad Locomotive power train and install a set of resistors to dump excess watts
Running one or two small engines off desiel at a steady rate driving a dynamo to feed electric motors or even better a pump that ultimately drives several planetary hydraulic sets? And it so happens that one of them would provide the house power we seek for proper cooling and heating in winter and summer.
Instead of one steer axle up front and set back, we should consider two Lorry style forward axles and build around them volume wise to increase habitat and living space. All the axles would be driven with a minimum in tubing and fluid work at a steady pace that favors work rather than taking Gambion at max speed. -
Wisconsin F150, Im surprised at you.
Park n View was awesome. It was real time weather infromation not accessible anywhere else. Dispatcher on the phone by the sleeper pillow. (Not that great of a idea....) and the honking huge lugging hardware filling a hatch on the passenger side of the tractor.
I see that the internet and communications is adequately taken care of by my 30 dollar smart phone that is running faster than my Coppermine III pentinum III chip 15 to 20 years ago on a 70 pound desktop.
Im driving video games with 4 video cards that was worth 600 each retail brand new several years ago. But they are obsolete and when maxed out on SLI multiuple video cards they are replaced with newer cards that will cost a certain amount, but nothing like retail. Im driving 6 SSD's in a raided 5 stack for a C drive backed up to several other hard disks. It does not matter how badly the computer suffers a casulty, I can reimage in 10 minutes to 20 minutes max and be back up and running. The point is the desktop that weighs 780 pounds is dead. /sarcastic.
Smart phones will eventually replace desktop. God help us all when implants become common.
But what good is all this technology crap when no one dispatches a truck or many trucks to go get a load and deliver same load to a customer? We would be dispatching robot trucks in a few years time if the will is there in our Nation. The technology is present already. I point to the Freightliner Inspiron as a example. It crossed Hoover Dam with minimum assistance from a human placed into the cab as a fail safe.
We are commuting air crews to combat at Luke AFB in Nevada for a 8 hour work day bombing our enemies from Drones, predators and examine the situation via Global Hawks and so forth. They do not have to go anywhere or be deployed anywhere. They are simply there reporting for combat duty over 8 hours at a nice secure leather chair and large desk. While our enemies bleed out and die seeking thier 72 virgins. -
Luke AFB is 30 miles west of Phoenix. I used to watch the F-15's and 16's out there. Saw 2 Navy Harriers landing out there once.
