If you can drive a 10 speed you can drive a 8LL. You can double clutch or float them in......... Just take it slow the weight is more than your use to . So as others have said corners and stopping are a little different ....... If your mt on the road test don't use low or 1st gear. Unless your starting off in the middle of a mountain . Best of luck!

Only dump I ever drove was a 15 spd.. think 10 spd with a splitter on the upper half.

15speed splits the bottom side only.... 13 speed splits top half only ........ 18 speed splits both sides.

That is so true! (at least the ones I drove 88 through 90 freight shaker 15 sp)totally different top heavy handled weird just different I don't know about pups only pulled one time and that was about 10 miles.And if they still spread rock like they used that's an experience there(raise your bed lock it in low gear and gun it!)lol forgot about unlocking the gate first and last time I ever did that luckily I got stopped before it turned ugly

if you DON'T use 1st gear to start off. you can probably forget the job.

Start out in any gear you think is best. An 8LL will pull stumps in 3rd gear. But what do I know.

15 does NOT split the bottom. 15 speed is a ten with deep Reduction, not meant for splitting, but for moving slow and starting heavy loads.
