    You're quite welcome.

I think you can if you think you want to.

I did it all from memory. :biggrin_25525:
    ReallY?
    Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Then you might appreciate this -------- if watchin' fish in a tank relaxes you, try pulling into a parkin' spot in the back (party) row at a truck stop in a place that has fireflies and watch 'em flit around outside your windshield.

Dim the lights and pop in some mellow music.
Lighting up a fine cigar is optional.

Some drivers will figure that you're a rookie incapable of backin' a Big truck into a parkin' place, so that's why you pulled in.
    That's what they'll think --- but you'll know better.
If you try to explain, you'll just be told
    NObody does that, driver.
Which might be what's wrong with drivers these daze.
    They don't do that.
    But I do. :yes2557:

Household movers, (bed-buggers) is another to consider, --- some of which have a trade show and/or electronics exhibits division, or climate controlled, as well as industrial movers who move entire offices for corporations.

Or, there are companies that transport munitions for the government, and/or explosives. Their pay might be more attractive to you. And much more interesting than grocery warehouses.

(If you want to feel small in a Big truck, try driving near a C-5A Galaxy transport aircraft waiting for your load of helicopter rotor blades so it can depart for a war zone.)

Does Heavy Haul and/or oversize loads sound interesting?
    How 'bout automobile transporters?

Another possibility is Wal*Mart. Rumor has it those drivers are in the better paid category.
Not real easy to get on with, but the above examples are where the better pay can be found.

I disagree ORG guy. I don't want to hijack your thread and turn it into a discussion about the economy. The Mexicans aren't leaving, but they are taking over more and more. Obama and the dems know they are in trouble this fall. Being the self-centered dictator that Obama is, he will try to ram amnesty down our throats before elections in the fall. With that there will be millions of more family members coming into the country. Where will they work? And, states and local governments are running short of money. They will be laying off to cut cost. Competition for business is as fierce as ever. Companies will continue to offshore to cut their expenses to the bone. They don't care whether Americans are employed or not. Profits are their main concern for their officers and shareholders. I could be wrong, but I think we will be in this recession for a long time. We Americans have a very serious problem in that things have been so good in the past that we didn't think our sins would ever find us out. We haven't believed that we would actually ever reap the bad things that have been sown. But please don't let me discourage you. I think you have to go through with what you're doing and do this for at least a year. Find out if it is what you thought it would be. Be thankful you are in good enough health to do it, and do it while you have the opportunity.

Not to mention that adding a few steps to that "restroom/buffet walk" is just plain GOOD FOR YOU!
Whoa there! Now you be talking about WORK! Physical work that is going to help keep you in shape. Now isn't that something that a lot of steering wheel holders will avoid at all costs?
And you will even have to exercise your brain on these jobs!

Thank you very much Endzone, and I wish you the same. I also have fond memories of the 60's and 70's, and wish I could go back in time.

I'll partly agree with you. FWIW, I've lived in Mexico for most of the past 4 years (I'm going back for a few months on Monday), and last year a lot of Mexicans were returning because of lack of work in the U.S. I agree with your comments on Obama, but the exact same thing could be said for Bush when he was president. I know he was pushing for citizenship of Mexicans already here. And as for the rest of your post where it starts from "And, states and local governments are running ...." to the end, I couldn't agree with you more. We've got problems big time, and it doesn't look to change anytime soon.

:biggrin_25514:Welcome aboard the great world of trucking, , i myself did this all backwards, i firmly belive you should get a job in a warehouse first, why, so you can better understand what there going thru ,everytime a truck pulls up, i seen lots bad warewhouse people, very mean, ugly make you go set in the corner and wait your turn, with no air in building, very hot and uncomfertable wait, then if you get smart with them throws your whole week off for loads , becuse they make you go too end of line and that nows is 24 hrs or more , so i dont play there game , be kool with em , hand them there paperwork with a smile, dont flirt with the ladys and tell them after you got your number, then tell or ask were them were ill be waiting , were do you want my truck and they will tell you were too go sit,and wait, grocery loads are the worst for new drivers, takes lots paitance too wait em out, but i figure im not goning anywere so why throw a fit, far as a funeral ,wedding anything with a date on it forget , you get home 4 days past that time,o sure you get load that way and everything hokey-dorey, but then qual com beeps en you have too rescue a load,be cause your the only truck in the area and is a high doller load for the company, so you ether take it or be fired, so now your headed the wroung way or roughly about 1100 miles from the house, were as you was like 123 from house before , its anthor neet trick dispacthers like too use too keep you out , cause after that load they keep sending you father en father away from the house, so you do restart in a truckstop, never bother me , cause i had freinds all over usa and we just have a big barbee party, buts a game dispacthers like too play, they have lots games they like too use, like trying too get you out the sleeper , when your logging your berth time, again saying im the only truck in the area and you go down to next truckstop and 5 more trucks, wondering are they all broke down, i shouldnt says this but o -well , i did slice my ac belt by accdent , cause i got tired of bs, and put truck in ta shop , just as beeped me a load , i wrote back theres 5 other trucks here, im not the only one in the area, beep beep,im in the shop getting fixed up, Everett.:biggrin_25516:

So today I had two school tests, one on combination vehicles/Coupling/Uncoupling Trailers, and one on doubles and triples. Pretty similar, and they both covered a lot of the same ground. I recieved 100% on both tests, so I currently have four 100% and two 98% for my tests.

I have one more school test to take towards the end of the day tomorrow and that's going to be on general knowledge. This should be the longest test with 100 questions (DMV asks 75) so this may be the most challenging test, possibly. I'll let you all know how I do.
