I am posting this for my partner and to help her figure out which company to choose. I have read alot of ppls post on here and found that there is alot of "bad companies" to work for. My girlfriend and I are new to this trucking thing and I still dont have much of a clue whats best for her/us. She on the other hand has a clue to what she wants but dont want to be lied to by the company or the school she is in. She has tons of pre-hires and all of them have alot of benifits and all that junk, but really shes not gonna get all the info from the companies, we all know that and the school looks like they tend to have their picks of companies but also looks like they are promotted by them. So to come to my question, She was pre-hired for werener, rheal and swift, Which is the better company to go with?? whats the pros and cons of these??

I wouldn't Go with Weener. I haven't worked for Rhoel. If you are teaming, Swit should be able to keep you busy. See how they are going to keep you comfortrable while you are sleepnng on the road. Allot of companies won't let you idle. Check on your creature comforts. I would pick one with APU's. They take care of the truck, and you while you are on break. Good Luck

If those were my ONLY 3 choices, I would go with Roehl. Just from what I've read around here.

!!truthfully, werener, and swift are not bad starting company. I do favor swift as I did drive for them 15yrs ago. I know nothing about rheal. what you two must understand is your getting into a new career. you must start at the bottom, you need to invest 2 years clean safe learning driving. do not!! I repeat DO NOT!! think you can or should own a new 150,000 truck because the company you go to work for sells you on "this be your own boss crap!!" please run from any lease/perches programs. just be a company drivers for two years, and the doors will open up for you.
ps. most don't hoop and huller about the great company the drive for but looser will be the first to crap on a company, look pass the bad talk and seek drivers in the truck stop for a true understanding of the pro and cons of the companies there driving for -
Swift stands for Sure Wish I Finished Training.
TMC is not bad. Try and find a company that has a female trainer for her because a lot of truckers are dogs and will make her misrible during training. There have been many cases of sexual harasment during training of female drivers. If she does get a male trainer, make sure he;s not an #######. -
No experiene with any of these companies but again, based on what I have read Roehl might be her best bet. Do a forum search on each company name and you will see threads related to them to get more info. Good Luck.

thank yall for all yalls post!! Yesterday when I talked to her on her lunch break she told me she got a pre-hire for stevens transport, is this company better then Roehl?? We live in alabama and plan to move to vermont in the next 6-12 months, we both want her to work with a company that is also in vermont so she wouldnt have to trade companies. We have heard that stevens was a very good company and that would help you get more loads if you wanted it, some ppl even saying that you could make $8,000 in 3 weeks, is this info correct??
-
Schneider is nationwide and I believe they may pay a hiring bonus. The also pay tuition reimbursement each month you work for them. $8000 in 3 weeks? It is possible a team might split that amout or close to it.
-
8000 as a new company driver, no a solo new driver aveg 600-700 a week is good.
-
ok, I didnt believe it was what the 8,000 in 3 weeks sounds so extreme. Is stevens a good company? Do they treat there empoyees right?
