Help me! I am a newbie. I have my CDL but NO experience. I have found PAM, CRST, and Stevens, willing to work with me. I have heard alot of bad about Drivers Solutions which is PAM's school. Can anyone give me solid, honest advice on where to go? :biggrin_25511: I know they al stretch the truth and I know I won't make the money they say. I am going into this with little expectations, but I can't afford a major mistake at this point in my life. Thanks to anyone that can shed some light on this!

Why not just do the WIA work force thing? That's what I did I got 10 weeks of schooling, my permit, my physical, my CDL state test, and my hard copy CDL. Total cost to me was $0 . I don't have to pay them back and I can choose the company I wish to work for without signing any school repayment contract

The problem with that is, I have only a few weeks of unemployment left. I need income quickly.

Getting your CDL and schooling then the company training take lots of time!. As far as signing up for the WIA thing all I did was call the worker on the phone got qualified for the program at the same time, she sent the check to the school the next day and I began my training. I might have been lucky I found a caring worker that cut some of the Red tape for me I don't know but that's what happend to me.

If you have your CDL then you have the option of just taking a refresher course. 2 wees instead of 10 but WIA will pay for that also

Ok, I went with P.A.M. The C1 school in Ft. Wayne was fine. They teach you what you need to know to pass the CDL exam, which I did not need to take since I had mine already. I am anxious to get out with a trainer and get in real situations to actually learn. I will keep posting as to how it all works out. I am expecting some bad, but hoping for the best.
