Easy to make one. I have made some before. I had an issue with freightliner on the same engine. I need a gasket coming off the exhaust manifold for egr. They said it wasn't one when I'm holding the old worn out one in my hand

Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Should I make it out of gasket paper or silicone gasket???
little cat 500 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I like gaskets in general. Some thing like gasket shellac on them helps. If you are going gasket less I would use anerobic gasket maker. The red one.

This things always leak. Reminds Me, I need to fix mine. They’re also known to crack, and leak. I have a new one somewhere a friend gave me when he sold his Truck. I thought they had a gasket. Good to know.

Those EGR gaskets may not be paper. Paper will work for turbo oil lines.
I learned this about 1976. Chevy dealer was one block behind the house. Guy there had a Vega with a 350.
Ford dealer was across the street. Guy there had a Maverick with a 429. I could share stories.
Point being thermostat housings can warp. One bolt on each side of the assembly. Over tightening the bolts can distort the flange. The Vega guy had a thermostat housing in a vise going on it with a flat file. It was high on the both sides.
No need to share where I learned this from but turbo oil flanges are the same. I always file them true.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
That explains why thermostat housings often snap when trying to torque them to stop a leak.BoxCarKidd Thanks this.

Maybe the Dealer thought you meant the line itself. It looks like a flare. Just looked at my fill tube, on my 12.7. It’s caked with thick oil. Turbo oil return line doesn’t go into mine, just has a fill tube, connected to it with a silicone hose.
