    Hello everybody,

I hired a driver and now its getting time for payroll. I tried to find free templates online, but was unsuccessful,

Can someone please post an excel template OR something similar for payroll.

IT is a 1099 driver position....

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH

I am not a biz owner, so I'm as knowledgeable about this stuff as I am about a cow fart. I also understand there is no point in trying to hook up the cart, after yyou've already set the horse down the road....

    BUTTTTT

Shouldn't you have had this figured out BEFORE you hired someone??? :biggrin_2551:

First you better make sure your driver qualifies as a 1099 employee. This is really tricky if he is driving your truck.

If he is driving your truck, according to the IRS, he is an employee. If you leased the truck to him then you can get away with the 1099. I know people that tried calling employees contractors and they got burned big time by the IRS.

have you tried searching the word "payroll" in the search box of Excel? There's a payroll calculator with paystubs template listed...

1099 issues aside, check with your bank, I used online banking for payroll when I had a 2nd truck. Did everything for me including figuring taxes, etc.
