This is a very good idea. My company uses temps all the time and the ones that do good end up getting hired. I would try this route, probably your husbands best bet.

I wish you guys the best of luck I really do. But if the felony is for any kind of drug or alcohol charge then his chances of getting hired on anywhere are not good. It will actually be all but impossible. Especially since the charge is less than seven years old.

If you guys really want to do this my advice would be for him to try to find an O/O that will give you guys a shot. Good luck to you guys.

usually weapons and drug charges make it impossible to ever get a driving job

If I am not mistaken Western Express hires people with a felony on their record. This has been asked on here before just have to look at the forums.

If your hubby handles depression by getting involved with drugs how is he going to handle the stresses associated with trucking? It can be very stressful at times. This is a question he needs to think about and answer as I'm sure most recruiters will want it answered. What was his felony charge?

Some companies only go back 5 years. Other go back 10 years. Also some companies will not even look at him as well. The chances are better tho because companies are always looking for "Teams" so I'd say its not impossible but it will be semi-difficult because his felony is only 4 years old..right now.

Really? Another one of these threads? Sheesh... I realize that the industry reach bottom and just kept on digging years ago.. but why is it that every few hours it seems another sad case of "gee why won't someone give my druggie/alcoholic/violent/ex con" a "break"...

Carolina cargo is a last resort as they pay low per mile .10 to be exact but since its all going to the same household it might work. Martin enterprises of the Carolina's hired me and I have two felonies. If no one else understands your frustrations I do. Hope this helps

People make mistakes. You learn from them and move on. Drug addiction is a disease. It can make the most honest person into a thief. Yes company's look down on that and makes it near impossible, but don't judge someone unless you know them.

Addiction is not a disease! Cancer is a disease. Diabetes is a disease. Leukemia is a disease but addiction is NOT a disease. People choose to do drugs. They don't choose to get cancer, leukemia, diabetes or any other real disease!
