I'm seeking some information on tires and was hoping someone here could help me out. Being that tires are so crucial, I was wondering how one goes about picking them for their truck? Do you depend on reviews or visual inspection? If you see them in person, what makes them seem like a good tire? Can anyone make any recommendations?

    Any help would be appreciated

If your interested in fuel mileage you want tires with a low rolling resistance. If your going to CA you need low rolling resistance tires

First what type tire do you need? Rolling resistance is important , can make a huge difference in fuel mileage. Most tires , their RR is listed on a site Amercia Moves By Truck. Good info . But if you need a full on off road traction tire , you want one that will get you out , so RR is a mute point.

Do they even enforce that? I would like to hear from someone who was actually warned about not having compliant tires. My guess is CHP doesn't bother enforing it. As long as it has air and enough depth they let you roll.

Talk to a tire professional. Tell them where you run an what you are willing to spend.

How you drive and what you haul will determine how long they last.

Comi-fornia doesn't check for Low RR Tires.

As it is, they barely have the money or personal to check for C.A.R.B. Compliant trucks.
