Normally I would agree with you however the OP is new so he should weigh every load so he can learn. The problem is most new guys will weigh their load but not learn from it. Don't just go an weigh your load, get the scale ticket, slide your tandems, reweigh and drive off. Weigh the load if it's overweight look at your trailer suspension and make a mental note of what it looks like. Once you slide the tandems and get the load legal look at the suspension again and see what the difference is. Make mental notes of how the truck feels when driving from the shipper to the scale so if it's overweight you know how the truck handles with an improper load. I usually set my tandems at the shipper and head out I would say about 80% of my loads I don't weigh. However I've been doing it for a while and can tell by look and feel if something isn't right.

lawyer up bro. you have to protect your cdl at all costs. I got a log book violation and didn't know that in the state of AZ it is a MISDEMEANOR if convicted. I had to pay a lawyer over $2,000.00 to prevent a misdemeanor getting on my record. lawyer up.

I do for sure... Its called Drivers Legal Plan... Ive had 2 tickets in a CMV and both times they had an attorney represent me in court and both times my ticket was thrown out of court... Id say its worth the $150 a year membership fee...

i weigh every load. I don't know where being safe than sorry is BS. While you waste money with that rip off truckstop lawyer I'll pay the $10 and be on down the road knowing I'm good.

Umm usually you know what type of product is in the trailer. Paper towels don't weigh 45k and canned food doesn't weight 12k. Catch my drift.

How long does it take to sign on the driver's legal plan? I can sign up and immediately send them my ticket?
