It's hillarious and sad -- and pretty darned stupid when you think about it -- that a company driver, driving for a corporation that's hauling commercial freight, which is loaded by another corporation's employees, ends up being personally responsible for the weight of that freight in the truck, which is owned by a corporation.
We really need some hold-harmless clauses that protect drivers from this liability.
How is it that under this giant and thick blanket of corporate immunity, the driver gets the poop-covered end of the stick while acting as a functionary in the shipping process?
It's like drivers suffer from low self-esteem or Stockholm Syndrome or something.
"Yessuh, I can drive this truck if you'll let me, suh. Thank you, suh!"

Come on now, this is about ed-u-ma-ca-sion not personally attacking one another. Were all subject to having our own opinion right or wrong. Each one has value and merit.... This is true as kong as you agree with me of course...

Nobody is liable except for the driver.
What's wrong with this picture?
Hmmm?
If more drivers understood the degree of their legal exposure while acting as corporate errand boys (and girls), then there really would be a driver shortage of gigantic proportions. Paid peanuts, cpm, for driving, making pennies on the dollar for freight value delivered and risk taken.

Jumbo Thanks this.

What's with the personal attacks?! Seriously the driver should have been trained to scale the load. If it's over you go back to the shipper and get in their face, that is why we get paid for the work. It is part of our duty, it's not that complicated.
