    That is the problem getting paid by the mile. But the problem with being compensated hourly or by salary is those that do not work hard.

    Stupid and or lazy is still stupid and or lazy no matter what the method by which you are paid. Stupid people can be educated and shown their mistakes. There is no cure for lazy.

    I was 4,000 over in FL a out 8 years ago and it was about $150. The shipper accidently used the wrong thickness of steel in the product, so the 42,000 was 52,000 pounds. This was a place I hauled out of every week too. I was allowed to return to shipper to offload as well.

    Last week in OH we had a driver simply drive by the open scale.....said he was listening to a medical alert regarding the ebola outbreak and didn't see the open sign. Highway patrol appreciated his concern for health safety and issued him a citation with a mandatory court appearance. Both wagons with placards as well.........ooops!

    I had a friend miss a Georgia open scale a while back..he said it was $1000
    ($800+court cost/fees)=$1000
