Be aware that grinding undersize/boring oversize is done on a case-by-case basis. It is quite possible to see some engines with a bunch of different bearing sizes in it.

Ok so your saying be diligent on documentation on each bearing and remove 1 at a time

Oxbow and Diesel Dave Thank this.

Yes. Just like @AModelCat reinforced. Check all bearings for size. That is what I meant. One rod journal can be standard and the one next to it could be .010 because it had a spun bearing or other damage on it previously and so on. Same with mains. Most Remans would not cut a crank journal unless it was absolutely necessary.

OK so I’m under here looking at the crank and on the back of the engine it looks like there is a thrush washer on both sides, see images….and on the front it appears that there’s nothing there. The crank moves back-and-forth maybe a 16th of an inch. My questions are does both ends of the crank get a thrush washer or is it just the back of the motor on an MTC 350 small cam 1976?
Also Does it matter which Rod and Main cap I pull to start As long as I document everything? -

If I’m looking at this correctly on the back of the motor, there are 2 thrush washers with little metal pins in the bottom of them to hold them in place on each side but I don’t see anything on top of those?
is the tops what’s missing? Or should it only have bottoms
Both bottoms are clearly on there and clearly intact -
