Sometimes some of the work either requires skills and/or tools I dont have and then I need to balance that out financially. I have no one local to help me, so I am on my own and somewhat at the dealer's mercy.
In all fairness, I found the cruise issue by accident, but the dealer should have known about that item and actually checked it. My cruise would kick out when I hit bumps usually...that is a tell tale sign of something likely loose. The microswitch on the clutch was a possibility - I will give ya that. But other than a loose connection on one of the dual pigtails on the speed sensor, or an ECM connection - the only thing left was this little PSI switch. The wire practically fell off the sensor when I opened the dash up... And, it was right there...not hard to get to at all or inspect.
The dealer thanked me for providing them feedback.
Let's hope it helps the next guy after me...

so what are you planning on pulling behind it?
-
..I am not planning on pulling with it until late winter or early spring. I need to work on more repairs and customizations before it's road ready for the way I want it...Heh, I still need a new mattress. I had to toss the old FUNKED one out in the trash.....it was major FUNK I tell ya....
- I bought some of those christmas tree fresheners...The BLACK ICE ones? - I figured I would put 3 of them in the rig.
BIG MISTAKE!!! - it smelled like a group of swingers was living in the rig. 1 or maybe 2 of those are more than enough..
it's also got a seepy engine oil leak on the pass side that needs investigating. Not a major one..but I want to make sure it doesnt get that far.
That and the rear-rear diff leaks a bit at the input shaft. Those are the only 2 leaks left I haven't addressed... -
that is the way to do it, get your truck right before you go trying to make money with it, otherwise it will nickel and dime you once you get it on the road, having your truck completly ready to roll will pay off huge when the time comes.
I know on my next truck one thing I really want to get before I get out on the road is a nice drom box with a pair of 30" tool boxes mounted under it, I am going to put an APU in one. also under my sleeper on the passenger side im going to mount a craftsman mid box in there, the one that is all drawers, that will let me keep tools in there nice and organized.
I am going to be pulling a step deck, probably going to wind up buying a all steel fontaine for the time being, will paint it to match the truck and get it looking nice, throw some boxes and ramps on it and be good to go.Hanadarko Thanks this. -
That's the best way....RenegadeTrucker Thanks this. -
Your dealer is right. Your kw is w900L . The "L" is the designator for the 130 BBC w900B models.

Why would you prefer all steel vs. an all aluminum? If you don't mind me asking. I am aware of the price diff. and to have comparable strength you end up riding a bit lower to allow for all the additional aluminum required... but I am interested to know why. thanksSAR Thanks this. -
Ruthless Thanks this.

Pretty sure they're all B's. The L is just something people add on to the end to indicate its an extended hood. The B just designates the cab design IIRC.
