I purchased a new truck and have been debating selling my current one or hiring a driver. What should I do? I am flying out today to go pick up the new rig. Im not sure if running 2 trucks will be worth it. I can keep them both busy pretty easily either in local or otr but, finding a driver and dealing with am employee is what has me stumped..

Be careful. I've watched employees tear the #### out of trucks under the guise " its not mine, I don't give a ####"

I'm talking just absolutely thrashed. No respect or responsibility these days.

That's what I'm worried about. I have done alot to the ol girl to make her nice and don't want her destroyed. Plus a driver who doesn't care can cost me alot of money not caring if they drive like an idiot.

So hire someone that you know is a responsible person, or don't hire anyone at all.

If you have more than you can drive, then you have one to sell.

That's a tough one. Good problem to have, I'd say.

Personally I'd sell it for the right price.

Knowing someone is responsible can be tricky just going off an application.

I think I'll post it for sale and see what I get for offers

I'm approaching the same situation myself. Kinda strange you can't find good employees in such a depressed economy.

I think it's that entitlement attitude that's rampant out here. I've put up an add for a driver and I'm also putting up an add for the truck. If I find a good driver I'll keep her if not bye bye baby

Tricky situation. Most good drivers are already at good companies with benefits. So you'd have to buy them away, paying them above avg. that's a good idea of putting up both ads kinda let fate have its way. Obviously playing it safe and selling will never hurt but the inner risk taker comes in and thinks about the little bit of extra money the truck could make....... Good luck though. What kind of truck you selling. My brother is in the market for a starter truck
