Now most of what you have listed is LTL but it PAYS good, and it sounds like McD's is night shift.

Exactly my thoughts very hard decision. it took me months to get those people to realize I can be the best driver they ever had, or maybe notbut i'll #### try to be. I have all those supervisors numbers stored on my phone. almost all those jobs doesn't deal with recruiters.

They all did call backI just don't know who to pick
that mcdonald gig sounds nice but from what I understand it can be a back breaking job?
The only appointment I have set up right now is with tex union they deliver linen to warehouses, drop a box pick up a empty drop it at the yard, and pick up a full one.
Fedex is running a criminal back ground from the last time I spoke to the supervisor, they already ran the county they where in the process of running federal I guess for hauling mail since its no hazmat involved.
If anyone around my area wants to get some good numbers to local gigs after I get hired I can hook you up just hit me up. -
fedex? is it a contractor you would be running for? there are shady contractors out there, there is one out in buffalo that has the detroit buffalo turn, and he is hiring about once a month!
working nights on linehaul is worth more than 16 an hour too, and you will HATE those hours real fast. companies that run linehaul on hourly pay are usually REALLY uptight about you running your ### off too, unlike companies that pay cpm
I wouldn't go for the tanker outfits, go for the union job delivering to mcdonalds. foodservice isn't that hard, just get a GOOD pair of boots. you will make more at that job than any of the other jobs, and you will probably have a good pension there too.
not even a question, go for mcdonalds. even if its nights, you don't have to keep your ### glued to a seat running linehaul, you will be up and moving around, and the freezer's will definetly keep you awake! -
I have my choice already I might go with carry or fedex. the problem with the McDonald job is that it will be all city work. alot of NYC stops, and all done day time runs to McDonald stores it self, not the warehouses. I might take it into consideration depending if fedex doesn't fall thru McDonald would be my third option from the list that is what I narrowed down so far. From my understanding you have a lift gate with a hand truck and take the products out of the truck to distribute it to the stores you don't take the product inside the store itself you leave it at the front of the store and a employee rolls the product inside after you done your scan, and paper work signed. My second option would be carry transit I like the whole learning process of training for a new position instead of just doing basically the same ol thing everyday just backing up and slamming doors. I had a interview tomorow with a union position but I might not even consider going since it's only a 4day work week, with the math I did on a calculator it doesn't pay enough for cost of living out here in New jersey.

Think about this! The Teamster Co's usually give you totally paid hospitalization, plus you get fully paid pension plan, plus in addition to the pension some Locals offer a 401K. In 30 years think where you could be. One other thing to consider as your seniority increases you can bid on other jobs that are not on the night turn.
already gone Thanks this. -
Carry also offers a 401 not matching the whole 100 but half, they have a great medical package and the pay rate is about 60k a year just for hauling regular tanker material. Union job is falling in the same area about 60 a year but dealing with city bullshtt, and traffic during the day which sucks. I rather take the night position less traffic and easier to maneuver around the city. It's basically apples, and oranges here. H.R ewell also has a similar package as carry. FedEx another strong company that won't be going out of business in my lifetime so that is also a guaranteed job.
I have to set up a interview with Mcdonalds or I might just call the supervisor again monday to get more of a better description as far as pay and benefits go.
Are you union? -
fedex ground? that's not a fedex job, it's working for a contrator. there's nothing permanent about a contractor
already gone Thanks this. -
From my understanding there has been people working there for years so it must be something stable?
