You'll need to provide a bit more background for anyone here to offer you any sage opinions unless they're familiar with that company.

Ride it like you own it!, You will make it, Just stay there and get the training and experience at least a year and then you can move up from the bottom feeders!. Take Care.

Go with your gut feeling, not only now but after you get in a truck. Never trust someone with your livelyhood that stands to make money off of you. I would say go to your local community college and see if they have a driving school. You would then be able to work for who ever would have you and not be tied down to a contract to that particular company. Be careful of this because they could own you. When I started out 35 years ago, the only experience I had in a truck was when I rode with bull haulers. I had a friend who vouched for me over the phone that I had driven for him. Then I found an owner operator who hired me. I was able to pass the driving test and then went out and learned by the seat of my pants. Time have changed. I don't know if you can get away with that nowdays or not. I should not reccomend doing it that way.

There are many ways to get introduced into the bussiness just make sure you do it the right way and best way that fits your lifestyle . when i started 12years ago i went to my local school and did it all myself but money wise it can make more sense to go with a company that pays it all . Just be aware you can be locked in a contract with them and if there not the right fit for you then it can make for one heck of a ride.

Yes, just get started; ignore the negative reviews, all companies will have a few unhappy employees.
There's a good company in Lebanon that has their own CDL school, check with them. It's R.E. West and one of their big accounts is in Ashland City, hauling water heaters nationwide. Check the website.

I personally would not recommend going to a company sponsored school. It just leaves that company with too much leverage over you. If you have the GI bill to use, there are lots of accredited schools that you can use it at. And when you consider how low the pay usually is while working under contract to "pay us back for your schooling", the community college route can actually be cheaper in the long run, than company schools.
