That's easy listen to your mentor pay close attention to what and how does things. If he turns out to be a pig or unsafe TELL somebody ! when training calls and wants to talk to you tell the truth ! if he makes you do all of the night driving never gives you a chance to shower or any of that let them know. When you get your own truck DRIVE it. That truck only makes money when it;s rolling. Don't call your DM every time the breeze blow's keep on time and turn your paperwork in on time. If you can do that and not tear the truck up or someone ele's truck you will get along fine. Oh one other thing. You will hear a ton of drivers sit in the lounges at the terminals and moan and groan about how there DM is screwing them over and how Swift is a really bad Company. They my friend is what is wrong with the Company if you stay out of there as much as possible and not listen to them you will be much better off. They are sitting for a reason and it's usually not the trucks fault!

I hear you there, im here to run, i go by the old saying "if you're wheels ain't turning you ain't earning"
And that 50 mile may just lead you to a 1500 mile run

absolutely I watch a driver one time turn down a 100 mile load. My dm said you want it I said sure dropped it a couple of hours later pulled out let them know I was empty and O gt a call said p?u right there and head to GA. from Cali. That's a nice run for a so;o driver. I never spent more than 10 hrs off the road for the next 2 months and I heard all kinds of people whining there was no freight

I know that running the conex trailers pays good at least here in Denver, I'm not sure about with swift
But i know that the shorter the run the higher the cpm
