Are they giving you a reason for turning you down? Like one other poster said may be a good idea to wait for a time and find another carreer path for now. Check with the VA they may be able to help you with some ideas or at least some money for training at a local community college. There may even be one close to you that offers a CDL training class. Give it a shot anyhow all they can say is I can't help you....looks like you should be used to that. Good luck!

For alot of schools the misdemeanor charges are not disqualifies but I cannot find any in my area that will allow it. My bad for not giving up after one half a day of research!

Screw finding a school.. MOST schools will accept everyone who could feasibly and legally be issued a CDL. You real worry is employment. Stop thinking schools and start contactiong employers. When you find one that will talk to you and you REALLY think you want to do this, THEN ask them what they require new drivers to have in the way of training and who if anyone they can suggest.

She touched base with all the bottom feeders and they won't touch her. She needs company sponsored training to pay for the school. Most companies frown at any type of drug charges. Maybe after 5 years she will be able to get on board.

Sabrina, go to "truck driver training near Arvada Co". just type that in your computer and several sites will come up. That may help to get you started...... But those other hands are correct that drug charge is gonna haunt you for awhile.....

That is definitely too recent of a charge to get anywhere in this industry. The companies that you've listed are the places to get your start. No one is going to be able to hire you for awhile yet because of the possession of paraphernalia that is only 14 months old. There are plenty of people out there getting into this industry that don't have something like that on their records.

You should wait until that charge is a bit older. You may not be accepted because of that anywhere. Not because you're a woman. A drug charge is a drug charge. If you can go through a class or ard and the may expunge it from your record, that would be your best bet.

I think you've got the answer... It would be idiotic for anyone to lower themselves to go to a sub sub category company so you could play truck driver. There are a few (and even fewer as the years go by) set in stone things that will keep you from driving sometimes forever. Your misdemeanor is still serious in an industry where they allow drivers to take hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment unsupervised all over the country and even to other countries hauling millions of dollars of other people's property. They have to trust that you are not using their equipment (and their "good name) to play with the drugs that you VERY recently played with. The liability is astounding. Even if you were 100% not at fault and involved in a fatal accident.. the company would have to explain this charge and frankly, its less risky to not employ people with these backgrounds. Is it fair? YES! These companies pay out millions in lawsuits every day..
