problem i see is the type of charge and how old it is,, im no kind of expert but you might have to wait a few year before a company will consider you but keep looking hopefully you will find someone to give you a chance wich you luck and if its something you really want to do dont give up its just a matter of time,,next time you talk to a recruiter ask how old does the charge has to be

    I live in Longmont.
If you're accepted to join a major carrier's training program KNOWING you posess a 14 month old misdemeanor for a drug related offense, I'll meet you personally and you can video me eating my shorts and post it on YouTube.

I'll let you know after my meeting tomorrow with a company that KNOWS I posses a 14 month old misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia (see the previous post I made). They don't seem to have your single mindedness know it all attitude! If you are so worried about my profession then maybe you could contact my mom and you two can have a little powwow and maybe start a club... how bout calling it "HIA" (heads in #####).

I'm not looking to get on with a major carrier training program. I'm looking to find a pre-hire then go to a driving school. Thank you for the video offer but I'd rather not see your shorts, nor you eat them?

No need for the attitude. You came here asking for advice and information. You got both from people who know all too well what companies will and will not accept when hiring people. We've seen these questions over and over again on here, and try to save people the expense and hassle because of a record that makes them a 'non-hire'. We've seen it many, many times . . . and we know how the story ends.

That's been my understanding. Anything drug or drug related is usually a deal breaker especially that recent.

I dont think its so much the trucking companies as is their insurance compaines. they are the ones that will be shelling out the mega bucks if there is a problem..

Something to keep in mind , once you have the job as a newbie you will not get much respect from a lot of people - however many will be nice to you , some won't . Be prepares to take any guff you get with a smile and stay pleasant , you may say "f" that ,but your attitude will hold you back a ton. Starting out in this business and you can't afford to piss anyone off, anyone, one call from a motorist you flip off and you might have a cdl , misdemeaner record and a dac report that says fired after only a few months .

It could always be worse. On another note did you ever consider going to work at a trucking company as a office worker and transferring over to driving once they get to know you ? ( I don't even have a clue if thats possible by the way )

She sure has the attitude of a trucker.

Just say the job does hire you. You would have to stay with that company for years before other companies consider you. If the company fires you or goes out of business. You still stuck at square 1. A Cdl that hasn't been used in 3 months for the most part is garbage and you have to get a refresher course.

Also trucking is hard and requires that you listen to your instructors and if you are giving those who are giving you good sound advice attitude. How do you even expect to make it through training. Hope it works out for you in the long run. Good night.
