    Lol ya i worked on a dozen food trucks last year in seattle and was gonna do that but now i wanna but a truck. So i said 20-50k for truck and someone asked how much i got for repairs. I for 125k cash to play with for the venture. I cant turn a wrench but i will count on the fact that i can hopefully find a trustworthy mechanic and great advice to work with him; ill try that.

    So the motor i have heard 500hp detriot with the 13 speed. I found a 500hp detriot with an 18 speed rehauled 80,000 miles ago. Freightliner, dont need the luxury if im gonna go bankrupt on this thing most lickly as it is.

    I appreciate the advice and letting me know im a crazy idiot. However im going for it. Education costs money and i dont think ill learn quicker any other way than trying this and failing. Maybe ill break even that would be great to learn AND break even; tall order to stand up to.

    So lets move forward stop the signs and give advice on how to start a trucking business with 100k and a cdl-A.

    Heres the truck:

    Thanks to all the poeple that have given me all the advice so far. Gonna go talk to Steward a local deseil mechanic and get his advice.

    Also what trailer do i want. Flatbed looks cheaper but lots of other options. I wont be running hazmat.. its too risky of a business so tankers out.

    The 500hp catapiller is not as good as the detriot? Also low votes for the internationals. Is this uncomfortable truck and economical? Or just #### all together.

    14,000$$ extra for this baby and 385k instead of 80k since rebuild. Shows the cost of luxury. Perhaps a good 2nd truck a few years out. Or is this what trust money is suppose to be for. Buying a pimper truck? Comments?

    Now here is a nice buy 35000 and 400k since overhaul. A peterbilt

    Now here was my initial idea get something like this for 14,500 with an assload of miles and then throw 20,000 into an overhaul. Now got a 35,000 dollar truck with a brand new overhaul. If this was a detriot not a catapillar would this be economical for a truck like this?

    Hadent even heard of western star but got the 500 detriot for 25k purple so cheap but no clue miles

    To the OP, since you have to ask that many questions, this is prove enough that you're not ready. Not a SINGLE mile under the belt.
    You better go and buy tool for 50 grand and be a mechanic. Oh soryy, I remember you can't turn a wrench. Why would you buy a truck then?

    To all the others who gave advice. Don't complain anymore. There is another one who is going to take cheap freight.

    I can’t wait until he finds out what his insurance will cost as a new o/o with zero experience.

    @Soon2BeOwnerOperator
    I hope you will be honest enough in the future to tell us how your venture went.

    You do that stupid nonsense, you will be shut down with a quickness. Hours of service ain't nothing to play around with....paper logs are a thing of the past. These DOT officers will jack you up out here. You think this is a get rich quick thing. You ain't going to get rich driving a truck. If you're smart, you can make a decent living.
