Set my airbrakes and my HVAC went out. No controls work at all except sleeper temp switch. No response from any of the other HVAC controls.

Drove for a little while then set my airbrakes again. Now the HVAC controls seem to be working again. What the heck is going on?

Why would setting my airbrakes affect my HVAC controls.

    HeavyD please chime in.

Sounds like a electrical issue in the dash. Are your park brakes near the ac controls?

There you go driver. Loose conection. You could pull the dash area if possible and probably a simple fix.

New development. While I was driving it would periodically cycle through the different air locations. It will go to the defrost in the heater and then back to the forward vents. I just stopped and set my parking brakes again and once again it cycled through the different locations. Even the temperature got warm and then got cold again. This thing is gone crazy.

Save yourself before its too late. I could tell you some stories about truck gremlins....This one truck evertime you got out the radio would start blasting a full volume. I mean it was turned off. Queer. You just have a electrical connection issue. Take it to the shop.

Shop time, here we come. Hey, you can catch a few NBA finals games. Summer's almost here, you're surely going to need that AC. I'd do what okiedokie recommended, pull the dash panel and check around that air brake valve for loose, frayed, or corroded wiring. I'd check fuses, but it doesn't sound like a fuse if it acts weird sometimes stuff works sometimes not so much. The gremlins comment from okie made me laugh, but if it's happening, it's not so funny at the time. Dang gremlins anyway.

Problem fixed. I opened up the dash and took out the HVAC control module and as soon as I touched it the wiring harness fell off the back of it. It was barely hanging on by a thread. I plugged it back in real tight in everything works fine now. #### gremlins.

You're a real inspiration, texasmorrell, seriously. Maybe your success can inspire some less mechanically inclined drivers to think: "Hey, if that driver can do it, maybe I can do it too."

Again, that's great, congratulations. I bet that cold air coming out of the vents is just lovely, down in Houston, New Orleans, Laredo, and points south.
