Is there any trucking companies that will hire someone with 3 DUIs in a life time? The last one was almost 10 years ago. Been sober and straight since then.

Your best bet is going to be to talk to the recruiters at some of the companies. I wouldn't go asking a truck driving school recruiter though. The older DUI's may not be a problem but your ten year one is right on the line. Ultimately your best bet is going to be the mom and pop smaller companies. There are tons of them in North Carolina.

Don't take this personal, because it's not. But I wouldn't hire you. Put yourself in the employer's shoes. If you get in a wreck and hurt someone, can you imagine what that victim's lawyers are going to do to them because they hired you, knowing you had 3 DWIs?

Trust me, The company will not do the rejection of hiring him. The Insurance company will be calling, saying " You hire him, and we`ll drop everydriver from your company". Insurance company will have a S _ _ T fit.:biggrin_2559:

With 10,000 chickens standing in line, why would they pick the one with one leg and a broken wing? I'm just sayin...

But from a personal stand point, look forward and not behind. I would look for a job that doesn't pertain to your record.

You could always feel out the situation like you are doing now and call some recruiters and ask them if they would give you a chance. The insurance thing has guidelines and if you are within them, then you are insurable. Many companies are self insured and say either 7 or 10 years on a DUI. Proof of a rehab program would of worked in your favor.

I have a buddy of mine, had 5 DUI`s dating back to 1995, the last one, he rear-ended a garbage truck, pealed half his scalp back. Still drinking, and never renewed his drivers license. I call him "Otis".:laughing-guffaw:
