The nice thing about quickbooks especially for hte OPs needs is he has one employee plus himself so it can do the payroll and tax work for him. Its an additional cost for that element of the program but worth it in my opinion.
How often are you home. While it is good to keep on top of everything you don't have to input it all the day it happens. If you are home every week just take an hour and enter all of your bills and invoices that way you don't have to bring a laptop with you.Charli Girl Thanks this. -

It's critical that you get your chart of accounts set-up correctly. If you don't, you'll regret it in the near future. Probably by your first quarterly filing. -

Agree 100%, don't use a TMS with a company like ITS that can sell you data. But I spend less per month now on a system that is significantly better than what I could buy for half of software cost. When I started looking at hardware, software, support, upgrades, maintenance, facilities, manpower, redundancy, etc. the choice was easy. Actually, not really a choice.
Now, independent O/O doesn't need a TMS. But at 2-3 trucks you should start looking at it.
